San Francisco AIDS Walk in 30th Year

Put on your sneakers if you're ready to walk in the 30th year AIDS walk anniversary on Sunday.

The walk begins at 10:30 a.m., although organizers ask that you show up before that to sign in for the 6.2-mile walk that usually takes about two or three hours to finish. The walk begins and ends in Sharon Meadow in Golden Gate Park.

Since 1987, AIDS Walk San Francisco has been involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS, organizers said on its website, and they said it has grown into the largest AIDS fundraising event in Northern California, raising over $86 million for HIV programs and services in the Bay Area.

The proceeds of this year’s event will benefit Project Inform, Ward 86 at San Francisco General Hospital and Project Open Hands. To donate, click here.
