San Francisco: Marijuana Grow Operation Discovered During Fire

Discovery made during one-alarm fire in Outer Richmond neighborhood

While dousing a one-alarm blaze at a home in San Francisco's Outer  Richmond neighborhood, firefighters discovered a marijuana grow operation.

Crews responded to a report of a fire at a multi-story,  single-family home in the 500 block of 35th Avenue at about 12:30 a.m.,  officials said.

The fire was contained at 1:05 a.m., according to officials.

While crews were at the home, they discovered a marijuana grow  operation, police Sgt. Dennis Toomer said.

Details about the operation were not immediately available.

No one was injured in the fire. The cause is under investigation.
