A woman slashed a man in the face with a broken bottle and punched and bit his female companion during a robbery attempt gone awry early Thursday in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood, police said Friday.
The suspect, a 46-year-old woman, allegedly tried to take the purse of a 21-year-old woman walking in the 500 block of Mission Street around 2:10 a.m., according to police.
When the victim's companion, a 25-year-old man, attempted to intervene, the suspect allegedly broke a bottle and slashed him in the face. She then allegedly punched the female victim in the face and bit her on the stomach, police said.
Police arrived and arrested a suspect in the incident.
The victims were taken to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
