At its peak, a power outage in San Francisco left about 22,000 PG&E customers in the dark Friday morning, according to the utility.
The outage, which started around 8 a.m., affected several neighborhoods, including Mission Bay, Potrero, South of Market, Dogpatch, China Basin and Noe Valley.
PG&E said it appears a third-party construction company hit an underground power line while working near 22nd and Illinois streets. The construction company is not affiliated with PG&E, the utility said.
