San Francisco is Second Most Walkable City in U.S.: Survey

A new survey has found San Francisco to be the second most walkable city in the country.

Walk Score examines cities with populations over 300,000. New York came out on top with an increased lead over San Francisco; both nearly tied in a 2011 survey, according to Walk Score's parent company Redfin.

Another Bay Area city made the top 10: Oakland, which sits in ninth place.

San Francisco was also found to be the second most transit-friendly city in the country (also behind New York) and the second most bike-friendly city (behind Portland, Oregon).
