San Francisco Symphony Performs to NFL Highlights

Hard-hitting action met soul-stirring music at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco.

The Wednesday night  Concert of Champions combined live symphony music with NFL highlights as part of the symphony's tribute to Super Bowl week.

The symphony took NFL films going back decades, removed the recorded music and played it live.

"You have a lot of emotion packed into these little short films," said Richard Lonsdorf, symphony spokesman. "The orchestra is supplying that live: Lots of brass, lots of percussion, huge strings, swelling moments of going into battle."

Hall of Fame player and former Oakland Raiders and Kansas City Chiefs running back Marcus Allen said his highlights look even better after the magic editing and music of NFL films.
