San Francisco's Glide Memorial Church Holds Thanksgiving Celebration

San Francisco's Glide Memorial Church held a Thanksgiving celebration today with music and food.

The cast of the play Porgy and Bess broke into song while helping serve Thanksgiving lunch.

The church served lunch to several thousand people.

Each got a helping of turkey and ham, as well as the traditional sides.

Even as the city enjoys a tech boom, many people said Glide's meals keep them from going hungry.

"I'm in the shelter, you know, and without this, I probably wouldn’t be eating today," Kittrell Warren said. "I wouldn’t be eating Thanksgiving food, you know. It’s beautiful, man."

In addition to the sit-down meal, Glide gave out over 1,700 bag lunches Thursday.
