A vigil will be held Saturday night in San Jose to mark the three year anniversary of the death of Michael Russell, a 15-year-old Santa Teresa High School sophomore who was stabbed to death on Nov. 10, 2009.

His family hosts a candlelight vigil every year to mark his death. Last year, the message was stand up and use your voice against bullying. This year the theme is waiting for justice.

The event is from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Frost Elementary School in San Jose.

Russell was stabbed to death and left to die in his own backyard.

San Jose police arrested two fellow students a few days after the homicide. Randy Thompson and Jae Williams were charged with murder, but still await a trial in the case.
