A captain with the San Jose Fire Department died while off duty, a spokesman said Friday.
Capt. Darryl Weeden died recently but the Fire Department is not releasing any additional information in order to give his family time to process his death, San Jose fire spokesman Capt. Christopher Salcido said.
Weeden's brother Brian, a graduate of Leigh High School in San Jose and San Jose State University, also passed away while he was off-duty in 2005 after serving on the Fire Department for eight years, according to Brian's obituary on legacy.com.
Our hearts & prayers go out to Captain Darryl Weeden's immediate family, friends and to his SJFD brothers/sisters. RIP Brother. — Santa Clara Co Fire (@sccfiredept) November 28, 2014
