San Jose Group Crochets Comfort for Thousands

More than a decade ago, San Jose's Holy Family Parish was the beneficiary of an unusual bequeath.

A parishioner who had been an avid crocheter in life, left behind boxes and boxes of yarn which were donated to the church.

All that yarn, though, took up too much space and the pastor at the time made it Lurine Larson's job to figure out what to do with all of it.

Blankets were her simple answer.

More than ten years later, and close to ten thousand blankets later, it looks like it was a good answer.

You can watch Garvin Thomas' story about Holy Family's crochet group above.
