A student collapsed and died at San Jose's Leland High School on Monday.
The student, who is a football player and a discus thrower on the track team, had just started practice just before 3 p.m. when he collapsed while jogging near the football field.
School officials said the student had a history of asthma. His coach immediately performed CPR on him until the paramedics arrived and took him to a nearby hospital. The student died at the hospital a short time later.
