SJPD: City's 7th Homicide is Gang-Related

Police release little else about 22-year-old victim

San Jose police on Monday called the city's seventh homicide "gang related," but they released little else about the 22-year-old man who was stabbed to death.

Officer Jose Garcia did not identify the man who was killed Saturday about 4 p.m. in the 1800 block of Sarasota Way because they said they have not yet notified his family. Officers tried to save him by performing First Aid, Garcia said, but he was pronounced dead at 4:20 p.m.

Other than being gang-related, police have not released a specific motive for the killing.

On Saturday, police said that the suspects were still at large, but Garcia did not immediately respond to requests Monday whether anyone had been taken into custody.
