SJ Teacher Accused of Sexually Assaulting Students

A substitute teacher who taught in San Jose's in Franklin-McKinley School District has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting students.

Jayanthum Kapasi, 64, taught at McKinley Elementary School and might have also taught in the San Jose Unified School District.

Several students on Friday told school administrators that Kapasi had sexually assaulted students, San Jose Police Officer Jose Garcia said. The incidents were believed to have happened that day.

The investigation could include other victims, Garcia said.

Garcia said he wasn't sure how long Kapasi has been susbstituting at the school.
