San Jose's 23rd Homicide Started as Domestic Call

What started as a small family dispute soon turned into a deadly fight.

On Friday, San Jose’s 23rd homicide of the year took place in an apartment complex in the 2900 block of Huff Drive.

Police arrested 40-year-old Thomas Thompson, who they say physically assaulted his 50-year-old relative, Daniel Torres.

No weapons were involved in the fight so it was considered “priority two” and police officers arrived on scene half hour later.

At 5:15 p.m., police took Torres to a hospital where he died about 6:30 p.m.

SJPD’s Homicide Unit responded to the scene and is talking control of the investigation behind the murder.
