San Jose's Polina Edmunds Withdraws from US Figure Skating Championship

Polina Edmunds and Ashley Lin have withdrawn from the 2018 U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

Edmunds was competing in the event held this week at the SAP Center in her hometown San Jose. She later announced on Twitter pain in her right foot forced her to withdraw.

"Sad to announce my withdrawal from the Freeskate. Due to shooting pain in my right foot, I cannot perform today. Very unfortunate timing, but I'm still very proud to have skated a strong SP for my hometown at #USChamps18."

Edmunds and Lin were seventh and 21st place after the short program, respectively.

The ladies free skate will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday.
