San Mateo Hosts International Chocolate Festival

Bay Area chocolate lovers, a description that likely applies to a large number of people, have one more day to attend the International Chocolate Festival in San Mateo, organizers said.

The event began Saturday and will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the San Mateo Event Center at 1346 Saratoga Drive.

The festival's offerings include speakers, culinary demonstrations of such comestibles as chocolate cupcake martinis and mirror-glaze cakes, samples and products for sale, organizers said.

The event, sponsored by the San Francisco Chronicle and SFGate, is expected to draw around 15,000 chocolate lovers, according to organizers.
