San Mateo Police Searching for Suspicious Man Who Followed 11-Year-Old Girl Home

Police are looking for a man who got out of a car and followed an 11-year-old girl to her home in San Mateo on Tuesday afternoon.

The girl was walking home in the 1700 block of South Norfolk Street at about 3 p.m. when a car with two men in it pulled up behind her, police said.

One of the men got out of the car and started walking behind her. The girl kept walking to the driveway of her home with the man still following her.

A family member called out to her from the home and the man turned away.

The family has not seen the man or the car again, police said.

Police said the man is about 60 years old, standing 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds. He was wearing a black beanie and a black jacket.

The man who stayed in the car is believed to be about 30 years old and wearing a black jacket.

The car was described as a white two-door compact car with a blue stripe down the side.
