Saratoga Sheriff's Office Seeks Help Identifying Suspect Accused of Violently Attacking Elderly Man

Sheriff’s officials are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who is suspected of violently assaulting an elderly man at his Saratoga residence in January.

According to a news release, the incident occurred around 10:55 p.m. Jan. 19 on the 12000 block of Parker Ranch Road.

The still unidentified suspect knocked on the victim’s door, but attacked him as soon as he answered. The man ran away as soon as the victim’s wife intervened and activated an alarm, sheriff’s officials said.

Responding officers came up empty despite a thorough search of the area, the release noted. No one else was seen in the neighborhood and no items were stolen, officials said.

The victim sustained life-threatening head injuries that landed him in hospital in critical condition. He has since returned home, but sheriff’s officials say he faces a long road to recovery.

The victim and his wife said the suspect is “clean-cut” Caucasian or “light-skinned” Hispanic man. Officials estimated that he is between 25 and 28 years old, 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, weighs about 175 pounds, and is athletically built.

People with information on the incident or suspect are asked to call sergeants Jason Brown or Josh Singleton at (408) 808-4500. Anonymous tips can be left at (408) 808-4431.
