Manhunt Continues for Missing Baby Ember Graham's Father

Matthew Graham, father of 6-month-old Ember and a person of interest in her disappearance, was seen in the city of Shasta Lake, authorities said Sunday.

Graham, 23, became the subject of a manhunt after he stole a gun and fled Saturday, authorities said.

He was reportedly seen at Shell gas station near Shasta Dam and Cascade boulevards at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, the Shasta Area Safety Communications Agency said. He was walking south on foot dressed in a green T-shirt and a baseball cap.

Graham skipped a meeting with his probation officer and stole a semi-automatic pistol after learning new information about the probe, Shasta County Sheriff Tom Bosenko said.

Bosenko said deputies had spoken to Graham's mother and the baby's mother about a pacifier found in the sparsely populated Ono area Friday. [[314496421, C]]

The Record Searchlight reports that shortly afterward, Graham's mother called and reported her gun, cellphone and cash stolen and her son missing.

"Matthew has violated his probation," Bosenko said. "He is a felon in possession of a gun and should be considered armed and dangerous."

Graham reported his daughter's disappearance from his Happy Valley home in the early-morning hours of July 2, telling authorities she was abducted from her crib. He became a person of interest after giving inconsistent statements to investigators.

He was jailed on an unrelated probation violation stemming from driving under the influence and a forgery conviction, but was released this week after pleading guilty.

A judge ruled that he didn't have to wear a monitoring bracelet after settling the case.

"The court made a bad decision in ordering Graham's GPS to be removed and now the public is in danger,'' Bosenko said.

Meanwhile, a search was continuing in the Ono area for the infant after the discovery of the pacifier. Bosenko said the pacifier resembled Ember's and will be put through DNA testing.

Shasta Area Safety Communications Agency officials didn't specify who saw Graham on Sunday but reminded people in the area to "keep an eye out, while locking their doors and cars."
