Sebastopol Man Found With 49 Bombs in His Car

Authorities searched his home and found several more bombs as well.

A Sebastopol man is in hot water after authorities 49 homemade bombs in his car.

A Sonoma County sheriff's deputy pulled Robert Justin Vasseur over on the 2300 block of Highway 116 in Sebastopol for two vehicle-code violations, according to The San Francisco Chronicle's Henry K. Lee.

The 22-year-old was arrested after the deputy discovered he had a suspended license. Authorities then searched his car and found 49 handmade bombs, each a little bigger than a firecracker, and bomb-making materials.

Authorities then obtained a warrant to search his home but they were met by an "uncooperative" woman.

She was arrested and authorities found more homemade bombs, fuses, rifles and handguns.

It's not clear why Vasseur was making the bombs or what he intended to do with them. He is being held on $50,000 bail.
