Security Tight, Lines Long, Around Super Bowl City

Security lines have been long for those trying to see Super Bowl City in San Francisco, and getting to work near the fan village.

San Francisco police are on every corner near Justin Herman Plaza and those who go to jobs nearby say their employers warned them early on about the potential for long lines, with some encouraging employees to work from home during this week.

Others said they wanted to come and get an early jump on the commute but it was not enough.

“Yeah, I had to leave earlier, but as soon as I got off BART and saw the line down the building it was a little bit shocking,” Laurie Hockin said.

Managers at office buildings around or near Super Bowl City are requiring people to go through security every time they enter, which is what’s driving some of the long lines especially in the morning and after lunch.
