Sega of America will close its San Francisco offices and relocate the video game-maker's American headquarters to Southern California, according to Venture Beat.
Sega for years had launched major products from a massive building on Eighth Street, visible from the approach to the Bay Bridge on Interstate 80. The building is now Zynga's headquarters, according to the report.
About 300 jobs, or 4 percent of the company's workforce, will be "affected."
Sega is now focusing less on consoles -- the DreamCast had been launched from the San Francisco offices in the 1990s -- and more on "digital games and its resort business," according to reports.
