Posting someone else's nude selfie could land you in custody.
Protections on photos intended to be private are among the 930 new laws that will go into effect on Jan. 1, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
As far as private photos go, new laws mean people who knowingly "post private naked photos or videos of someone without his or her consent" can be charged with a misdemeanor, according to the newspaper.
And after July, victims whose private images were posted online will be able to sue perpetrators in court using a pseudonym, allowing for the recovery of damages via a civil suit without disclosing a name.
