U.S. Honor Flag Flies Outside Hayward Police Headquarters in Tribute to Sgt. Scott Lunger

The United States Honor Flag flew in the East Bay on Monday morning as part of a national tribute to fallen Hayward Police Sgt. Scott Lunger.

The flag was flying for 15 hours outside Hayward Police Department headquarters, one hour for each year of Sgt. Lunger's service.

Lunger was shot and killed last month during a traffic stop.

The Honor Flag has traveled to over 1,000 events and services for fallen heroes across the nation. It was flown at Ground Zero after 9/11 and aboard the Space Shuttle Atlantis.
