Days after wildfires burned down Santa Rosa's Coffey Park neighborhood, this sheep dog and his flock of sheep seem to be doing fine in a field located just around the corner on Barnes Road.
A number of animals in Sonoma and Napa County, including those belonging to farms, had to be evacuated or were displaced in the fires.
Stories about how sheep dogs stayed behind to protect sheep brought hope to many in times of despair during the North Bay wildfires. We assume this particular sheep dog in Santa Rosa stayed back to protect his flock as well. Locals called him a hero.
