Shooting Suspect Found Dead From Self-Inflicted Gunshot in Napa County

A man who was pursued after a shooting near Yountville today was found dead in his vehicle of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, Napa County sheriff's officials said.

The man in his late 40s, whose name is not yet being released, was found in the vehicle on Wall Road around 2 p.m., according to the sheriff's office.

The earlier shooting occurred in the 6000 block of Solano Avenue south of Yountville shortly before 12:10 p.m., sheriff's officials said.

The suspect fled in a vehicle and was pursued to private property off of Wall Road, according to the sheriff's office.

Sheriff's officials had advised residents in the area to lock their doors, be alert and report any suspicious person.
