Sierra LaMar Search Center on the Move

Family, friends and strangers refuse to give up hope for finding Sierra LaMar

The Sierra LaMar search center is moving locations.

Organizers say the new "Find Sierra Search Center" is setting up shop at Central High School on  Monterey Road in Morgan Hill. That is about two miles from the old search center at Burnett Elementary School.

Sierra was last seen walking to catch a bus to school on March 16, 2012. “It's like she literally vanished,” Sierra’s mother Marlene said.

San Jose police arrested a suspect in the case. Antolin Garcia Torres is charged with the kidnap and murder of Sierra LaMar. Although her body has never been found, police and prosecutors presume she is dead.

Sierra’s father Steve LaMar said his family is grateful to the Morgan Hill Unified School District for allowing them to stage volunteer searches out of the same location for the past 15-months.

"This change of venue will allow us to refocus on finding my daughter and bringing this nightmare to an end," Steve LeMar said.

There are more searches planned. For more information or see how you can donate supplies call 408.612.6628.
