Authorities are investigating a small plane crash near the Livermore airport.
Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said the crash was reported around 11:50 a.m. Wednesday.
The plane, a single-engine Cessna 120, crashed under unknown circumstances after taking off from Runway 25L at the Livermore Municipal Airport, Gregor said.
The pilot was the only person onboard the plane. The pilot's condition was not immediately known.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
