Social Media Calls Uber “Shameless” For Charging Processing Fee for Veterans Day Donations

Uber is under fire for charging a processing fee for donating to the company on behalf of homeless ex-servicepeople on Veterans Day.

SFGate noted that the company took 25 cents from each $5 donation made on Wednesday and social media users aren't pleased.

"The people at Uber are shameless, really," tweeted Matt Milsap.

"Is there no end to the depth of UBERS depravity?" asked Taximassive MM.

"Can't even do charity w/out being greedy," wrote Soul Cab. "Military discount everyday in my cab."

"#Ubergivesnothing," retorted Robert M. Alexander.

Uber had a few voices of quasi-support on Reddit, including a user named scsibusfault who wrote, "Should they be eating that cost? Yes. But at least they're being upfront about the fact that it's being charged."
