The Solano County Sheriff's Office released a sketch Friday of a man who allegedly robbed and assaulted a pair of hikers in a wildlife area near Berryessa Lake last week.
After meeting with one of the victims, a composite sketch artist was able to compose a picture of the suspect, police said.
The incident occurred on March 25 around 3 p.m., when two women were hiking in the Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserve in unincorporated Solano County, according to sheriff's officials.
The unknown suspect approached the two women, aged 18 and 59. The man brandished a handgun and forced the two women off the trail to a secluded area, sheriff's officials said.
The suspect assaulted one of the women before demanding money from the pair. He then fled on foot, according to sheriff's officials.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man, who is believed to be about 25 years old, 5 foot 5 inches to 5 foot 6 inches tall, with short black hair and a light mustache. He wore a burgundy shirt, black pants, and gray and white tennis shoes.
Additionally, the suspect spoke broken English and had a heavy accent, sheriff's officials said.
