South Bay Boy Shot in the Face

A 17 year old boy was shot in the face just after six Saturday evening at the corner of Almaden Expressway and Coleman Avenue in San Jose.

San Jose police cordoned off the busy intersection just north of Almaden Lake as a crime scene.  Police have not released many details, but officers on the scenes say the boy was in "extremely critical" condition as he was loaded into the ambulance.

A quick thinking San Jose police officer in the Willow Glen / Cambrian area saw a suspicious van similar to one described my witnesses as he was headed towards the crime scene.  He elected to pull the van over and three suspects fled into the neighborhood near Hillsdale and Meridian.

A short manhunt ended with all three in custody.  As of 8pm Saturday night, the intersection of Almaden Expressway and Coleman is closed, as is the neighborhood near Jacob Avenue and Willowpark Avenue, as police search the area where the suspects were caught for evidence.
