South Bay Firefighters Ask Residents to Prepare for Pacific Storm

The Santa Clara County Fire Department is asking residents to be prepared for a strong Pacific storm expected to hit the Bay Area Wednesday night and into Friday.

Fire officials said heavy rains could lead to flooding and mud flows, and strong winds may topple trees and down power lines.

The fire department is advising residents in rural areas to be prepared to be without power for an extended period of time due to the projected widespread coverage of the storm.

The National Weather Service has issued Flash Flood Watches, High Wind Warnings and High Surf Advisories for the Bay Area that will be in effect starting tonight around 10 p.m.
