Spare the Air Again on Thursday

Beware the log police if you decide to burn.

No logs will be burning in the Bay Area Thursday as another Spare the Air Day has been announced by the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, the 14th for this winter season.

The wood-burning ban includes indoors and outdoors in all nine Bay Area counties and will be effective for 24 hours, air district officials said.

The ban includes the burning of wood and other solid fuels in fireplaces, wood stoves and inserts, pellet stoves, outdoor fire pits, and other wood burning devices.

More information regarding air quality forecasts and wood burning bans can be found at www.sparetheair.org.
