Special Ed Teacher Arrested on Suspicion of Rape

A 56-year-old special education teacher who works at a Vallejo elementary school was arrested on suspicion of raping a developmentally challenged student aide, police said.
   
Jerry Johnson is alleged to have committed the sexual assault on the Loma Vista Elementary School campus during school hours, police said.
   
Johnson teaches students who are in kindergarten or pre-kindergarten. According to police, the victim is 18 years old but has the  mentality of a 7-year-old.
   
The victim, a student aide of Johnson's, assisted other developmentally disabled students, police said.
   
Johnson was taken into custody in Elk Grove, the same city where he resides, with the assistance of the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office,  according to Vallejo police.
   
Johnson was arrested on a warrant for $750,000 on suspicion of rape of a person who is incapable of consenting due to their mental and  developmental disabilities, police said.
