'Star Wars' Burlesque Parody Makes SF Debut

    "Star Girls," a burlesque parody of "Star Wars."

    A "Star Wars" burlesque parody will make its San Francisco debut after six years being honed in Hollywood.

    Devil's Playground Burlesque will present "Star Girls: The Original Star Wars Burlesque" on Feb. 5 at DNA Lounge. A sequel called "Star Girls Vol. 2: The Force Is a Shakin'" was recently performed in Los Angeles.

    Expect live music from a three-piece band to soundtrack some intergalactic sauciness from 14 burlesque and Cirque du Soleil style performers. Beyond that, expect the unexpected, like a Wookie twirling from a pole.

    Tickets for the SF performance start at $15 and go up to $690 for VIP table and bottle service.
