Steph Curry to Play in Pro Golf Tournament Again

The Golden State Warriors star will take the course at TPC Stonebrae in Hayward in August

Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry will play for the second year in a row in a professional golf tournament, the Web.com Tour's Ellie Mae Classic at TPC Stonebrae in Hayward next month.

Curry played in the tournament last year, drawing tournament-record crowds while shooting 74 in each of the two rounds he played in.

This year's tournament will take place on the week of Aug. 6-12 and Curry will play via a sponsor exemption.

"His debut in 2017 was a tremendous success for our event and brought countless new golf fans to the Web.com Tour," tournament director Trish Gregovich said in a statement.

The Web.com Tour allows golfers to compete for spots on the PGA Tour. The Ellie Mae Classic is in its ninth year at the TPC Stonebrae Country Club in Hayward.

Curry, 30, a three-time NBA champion and two-time MVP, is the Warriors' all-time leader in three-pointers.
