Stolen Vehicle Prompts Police Pursuit, Manhunt in San Jose

A police pursuit and subsequent manhunt took over the streets of the South Bay Monday morning after authorities spotted a stolen vehicle.

A member of Santa Clara County Sheriff's force detected the car, which had been stripped of its license plates, around 3:20 a.m. near Tully and S. King Roads in San Jose, prompting law enforcement officials to pursue the vehicle for roughly 40 minutes, Santa Clara County Sheriff's Public Information Officer Sgt. Richard Glennon said.

The chase ended around 4:00 a.m. when the vehicle became disabled on the McKee Road off-ramp, Glennon said. Two suspects immediately fled from the scene on foot. One was apprehended by police, but the other suspect remains at large.

Police have ended the search for the second suspect at this time, Glennon said.

The stolen vehicle is currently being examined for evidence, Glennon said.
