Sunnyvale Power Outage Impacting Nearly 3,000 Customers

A power outage is impacting nearly 3,000 PG&E customers this afternoon in Sunnyvale, where electrical wires are down, public safety and utility officials said.

The outage affecting 2,773 customers started just before 2 p.m. in an area between El Camino Real and Central Expressway, according to an online PG&E map.

PG&E crews are responding to an area just north of El Camino Real, where wires are down, the city's Department of Public Safety posted on Twitter at 2:21 p.m.

Officers have closed West Olive Avenue between Carneros and South Mary avenues and Leota Avenue between Viscaino and West Mary avenues, public safety officials said.

The public is advised to avoid the area and there is no estimated time for when the roads will reopen, according to public safety officials.
