Surveillance Pictures Show Tiffany's Break-In Suspects

Walnut Creek police hope someone will recognize the people -- or the vehicles -- seen in surveillance images taken just before a break-in at Tiffany's earlier this month.

The pictures show six people meeting in a parking lot, where police say they removed license plates from a white Chevy trailblazer, which was later used as the getaway car.

Before the store opened the morning of Aug. 15, police say, the thieves crashed a stolen truck through the entrance of the store on the corner of South Main Street and Mt. Diablo Boulevard and then began trying to break into the jewelry cases.

Police arrived about 90 seconds after the suspects fled to find a small amount of jewelry stolen, but the most expensive items remained safely behind locked glass cases.

No one was injured.
