Suspect in Pacheco Homicide Arrested Near Concord BART

The man killed Friday in what sheriff's investigators believe was a dispute between two acquaintances in the unincorporated Contra Costa County community of Pacheco has been identified as 29-year-old Erick Ousey of Pacheco.

Sheriff's deputies were called shortly after noon Friday to a report of a man lying on the sidewalk in the 5900 block of Pacheco Boulevard, near the Paddock Bowl and the California Grand Casino.

Pleasant Hill police officers arrived first and performed CPR on Ousey, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Office said.

The suspect in Ousey's killing, 41-year-old Aaron Goode, also of Pacheco, was arrested about 8:35 p.m. Friday at the Concord BART station and was booked into the County Jail in Martinez on suspicion of murder, in lieu of $1 million bail.

The suspect and the victim knew each other, sheriff's spokesman Jimmy Lee said, and apparently had gotten into a dispute.

Investigators have not yet said publicly how Ousey was killed, and as of Saturday afternoon were still trying to determine a more specific motive for the killing.
