Suspect in September Fatal Shooting in San Jose Arrested

    San Jose police arrested a man Thursday they suspect is responsible for the fatal shooting of another San Jose man in September.

    Ivan Hernandez, 20, was taken into custody in San Jose by the department's Covert Response Unit and was booked into Santa Clara County jail on suspicion of killing 26-year-old Jesus Ayala.

    Around 6:25 p.m. on Sept. 29, officers responded to the report of a person shot in the 100 block of South Jackson Street. They located an adult male victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound according to Sgt. Enrique Garcia.

    Ayala was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
