Pregnant Woman Tasered in San Jose Home Invasion: Police

A male was struck with a hammer and a pregnant female victim was shot with a stun gun, according to police

Home invaders shot a pregnant woman with a Taser stun gun and hit another resident with a hammer in an attempted burglary in San Jose early Tuesday morning, police said.

Three men forced entry into an apartment unit at the Del Coronado apartment complex in the 5200 block of Camden Avenue at about 4:30 a.m. and demanded money from the residents, according to San Jose police.

One of the men struck a male resident with a hammer and shot a woman with a Taser inside the apartment, police said.

The men fled the scene without taking anything. No suspects have yet been identified or apprehended, police said.

The victims were transported to a hospital for treatment of their injuries, which were not considered life-threatening, according to police.

San Jose police aren't sure if the couple was targeted or if it was a random attack. Either way, neighbors are shaken up.

Danny Castro said he has been worried about break-ins lately. In fact, his wife thought she heard someone trying to break their window a couple days ago.

“We’ve got locks on the window, a lock on the door,” Castro said. “I’ll put some alarms on the windows today.”

Authorities are asking anyone with any information about the incident to call the San Jose Police Department.
