Police have released the names of two suspects who were arrested in connection with a shooting Friday night in which a stray bullet penetrated a San Francisco apartment and struck an 11-year-old girl, San Francisco police said.
Shots were fired around 11:15 p.m. in the 1100 block of Laguna Street in the city's Western Addition neighborhood.
The girl who was hit by the bullet was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. She remains at the hospital but her condition has improved slightly, Esparza said.
Three men were detained after the shooting and two of them were arrested.
San Francisco police Officer Albie Esparza identified them today as Lazarus Thomas, 19, of Daly City, and San Francisco resident Shadon Mitchell, 20.
They were booked into jail for assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a weapon and other charges, Esparza said.
Police say the shooting was gang-related and may have stemmed from an argument among a group of men outside the apartment.
