Tea Party Rally in San Francisco Today

Party with the original political rabblerousers: the Tea Party.

Move over, Occupy. It's Tea Party time.

The nation's previous political movement du jour -- and the only one to win seats in Congress and prompt pandering from presidential candidates -- plans to take over the Justin Herman Plaza bocce ball courts that once played host to the Occupy SF tents for a rally at 1 p.m. today.

Tea Party members don't like taxes, and have in the past rallied on Tax Day, April 15. But that's a Sunday this year -- the deadline for your taxes is next week -- so the party is today, according to the San Francisco Examiner.

Taxes are chief among the party's beefs, but the "10 tea party groups" from around the Bay Area expected to attend are united also by a general dislike for Barack Obama and "government run amok."

Don't forget your "Nobama 2012" foam finger!

But they're dutiful citizens, even in San Francisco: they paid $186 for an event permit.
