Teen Shot in San Jose

A 15-year-old boy was injured this afternoon in a possible gang-related shooting as he walked on San Jose Avenue, San Jose police said today.

Police received calls reporting the shooting victim on the 1500 block of Pomona Avenue just after 2:45 p.m. today, according to Officer Jose Garcia.

Officers found the boy, who had suffered at least one gunshot wound, and learned the shooting had taken place moments earlier on the 200 block of San Jose Avenue.

The suspects fled before police arrived, and have not been located.

The victim is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The motive for the shooting remains under investigation, but may have been gang related, Garcia said.
