Teenager Believed to Be Riding Skateboard Hit by Car in San Ramon, Listed in Critical Condition

A 15-year-old boy sustained life-threatening injuries Saturday after being struck by a car in San Ramon near Dougherty Valley High School, police said.

The collision occurred around 7:45 p.m. near the intersection of Bollinger Canyon Road and Blueheart Way, according to police.

A skateboard found at the scene led police to believe that the teenager was skateboarding at the time of the collision.

The victim was airlifted to Children's Hospital Oakland and listed in critical condition. The driver was cooperative with police.

While investigating the crash, police closed Bollinger Canyon Road to westbound traffic for several hours starting just before 8:30 p.m.

Initially police closed Bollinger Canyon west of Blueheart Way before extending the closure to Albion Road just before 9 p.m.
