Three Arrested in Connection to San Rafael Bank Robbery

Two men and a woman have been arrested

Police in San Rafael have arrested two men and a woman in connection with a Friday morning bank robbery.

Alphonso Miguel Pazos, 56, of San Rafael was arrested as the lead suspect in the robbery at Citibank at 1004 Northgate Drive Friday morning, police said.

Pazos, along with a man and woman who aided and abetted, was arrested after police tracked them down at a Santa Rosa hotel in the 3300 block of Santa Rosa Avenue, police said.

Pazos was booked into Marin County Jail and is being held in lieu of $75,000 bail.

The robbery occurred at about 11:10 a.m. when Pazos entered the bank, brandished a modified air pistol and demanded money, according to police.

During the robbery, Pazos fumbled with his hood and his face was captured on a surveillance video. He left after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, according to police.

No one was injured.

Police later learned Pazos was at a Santa Rosa hotel and, with the help of the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office, arrested the three involved in the robbery.

Officers waited for Pazos and the other two suspects to leave the hotel. At about 10 p.m. Friday, Pazos got in his car and the other two in a separate car, and were pulled over shortly after, police said.

The two suspects who aided and abetted Pazos were released on bail. Their names have not been released due to the ongoing investigation.

Money and the weapon used in the robbery was also recovered from the cars, police said.

Pazos is not believed to be the serial bank robber who has struck in San Rafael, Greenbrae, Corte Madera, San Anselmo and Mill Valley.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Ran Rafael police at (415) 485-3000.
