Prominent Napa Valley chef/restaurateur Thomas Keller and several Bay Area spots have been recognized in a list of the world's best restaurants.
Keller's New York restaurant Per Se was named the second best restaurant in the world by La Liste, which is a project from the French Foreign Ministry and funded by corporate sponsors, according to Grub Street.
After teasing the top results over the weekend, La Liste revealed its full global list of 1,000 restaurants on Thursday, determined by an algorithm that scoured diner-generated scores from sources like OpenTable and Zagat.
Several Northern California restaurants were named in the top 20 restaurants in the United States: Los Gatos' Manresa (No. 15), San Francisco's Benu (No. 14) and Saison (No. 6), Keller's The French Laundry (No. 9) in Yountville and St. Helena's The Restaurant at Meadowood (No. 7).
