Thousands of people poured into the San Jose Convention Center Saturday to experience HempCon, one of the biggest trade shows in the world catering to medical marijuana users.
People inside could find everything from marijuana ice cream to the latest technology to grow marijuana.
Industry leaders said this event is larger than ever.
"In this room, we have hundreds of entrepreneurs, new technology. All of the stuff is made in the U.S.A. The cannabis smoke here is from California," HempCon General Counsel Freddy Sayegh said.
And Sayegh said the medical marijuana industry employs 100,000 Californians. He also said as new research points to benefits for people with AIDS and those suffering from PTSD, the industry is expected to grow even more this year.
HempCon will continue Sunday, and another show is scheduled for April in San Francisco.
