3 Years Later, Family To Be Reunited With Missing Dog

Rare Shiba Inu is found wandering in Oakland.

A Bay Area family is celebrating the return of one of its family members, rediscovered after a three-year absence.

The family dog.

The McNesby family of Tracy was reunited with Hana, a rare Shiba Inu breed of dog acquired while Ian McNesby was stationed overseas in Japan, according to the Bay Area News Group.

Hana went missing from the family home after the family returned home one day to find the gate open and the dog missing, according to the news organization.

Fliers posted in the neighborhood yielded no Hana. But luckily, the dog was microchipped, and it was the microchip that linked the family with the dog after Hana was found wandering around in Oakland.

The relieved and ecstatic family came to Oakland Animal Services to collect her.
